On the road to le Grand-Bornand. French vacations are ending tonight. Most people have gone back home. After the sudden mist on the road and the heavy snow fallen all last week, a clear blue sky and shining sun is just the promise of a great day.

Great ski, great snow and great sun. Still risks of avalanche, so staying on the opened slops is the good choice of the day!

Christmas diner at la Vallombreuse.

First time in 13 teen years!
We had our Christmas diner up stairs, near the fire place. A great time, sharing with family and friends the cosy atmosphere of the place. We all so much enjoyed it.

Walking on the Semnoz.

Lovely sunny day on top of the Semnoz. 1699m. Shoeing the whole tour in 4hours with not always much snow and some ice. The view is just fabulous with a 380° on Parmelan, Dents de Lanfon, pointe Percée, mont Blanc, dôme and aiguille du Goûter, Dent du Géant, aiguille du Midi, massif du Beaufortain, mont Pourri, massif des Bauges, massif des Écrins, Dent du Chat, as well as the 3 lakes : Bourget, Leman and Annecy. We ended up having a great lunch at "Les Rochers Blancs": goat cheese Tartiflette in the sun with home made apple and blueberry tarte. You have to try this next time!

Great 3 hours walk in soft powdered snow through crunchy iced trees. Unfortunately the sun was not with us.
