Beauté absolue...

Absolute beauty… I do this walk over and over again starting from the garden of la Vallombreuse, walking up behind Saint-Germain, through the forest and the Angon waterfalls and down again to Talloires. I sit for a while in the amazing bay, facing the lake. Then back up le Roc de Chère to Menthon-Saint-Bernard and home. This takes only 3 hours and in June, when the sun starts warming your skin, you can even stop for a swim!

Fire and snow.

Peaceful and warming breakfast this morning at la Vallombreuse. Out of the window, sparkles of rain in the light falling in silence, fresh snow up in the mountains.
