Sun bouquet

Il pleut généreusement dehors, alors faites comme nous et cueillez de gros bouquets de forsythia aux couleurs du soleil. Ce soir, la pluie devrait s'arrêter de tomber pour faire place à la lumière de la pleine lune.

I made a big bouquet with the garden forsythias, bringing the sun inside the house. Outside, the heavy rain should stop soon. Tonight, we might even be able to see the full moon glowing.

Seminar at la Vallombreuse

Un séminaire pas tout à fait comme les autres.
Ce soir, après une journée de travail dans le grenier de la Vallombreuse, parties d'échecs, raclette au coin du feu, poires pochées et café. 

After a good day of work with your team at la Vallombreuse, raclette, fire in the chimney, poached pears and coffee for diner. Sweet dreams to all.

Beauté absolue...

Absolute beauty… I do this walk over and over again starting from the garden of la Vallombreuse, walking up behind Saint-Germain, through the forest and the Angon waterfalls and down again to Talloires. I sit for a while in the amazing bay, facing the lake. Then back up le Roc de Chère to Menthon-Saint-Bernard and home. This takes only 3 hours and in June, when the sun starts warming your skin, you can even stop for a swim!

Fire and snow.

Peaceful and warming breakfast this morning at la Vallombreuse. Out of the window, sparkles of rain in the light falling in silence, fresh snow up in the mountains.
