Roc de Chère - in the woods.

Leaving la Vallombreuse for a 3 hour intensive walk, my feet brought me to the highest spot of the "Roc de Chère" forest called " le grand belvedere".  The view on the lake is again just stunning, (but not much sun today so I didn't take a picture!) If you ever walk there, you will also discover different shapes carved in the rocks. Let your imagination run, you can see so many different things. I saw some dinosaur skin and foot steps,  a huge hole connected to the lake and ….

l'Epiphanie - le 6 janvier.

l'Epiphanie celebrates the Messiah’s birth on earth receiving the tribute of the Three Kings.
Great time sharing the "galette des rois" round and golden like the sun, the crowns for the kings and the "fèves" like a charm hidden in the pie, for the wish.
The youngest child of the family, hidden under the table,  decides to whom each piece of "galette" will be given.

Skiing, skions...

Grand-Bornand. Up le Col des Annes at the end of the Vallée du Boucher. Very easy slope but fabulous view! we love going there at least once.

Hot chocolate at the Terre Rouge. Our best place. You can eat there, inside or on the terrace, have a drink in the sun. This is so much part of the skiing pleasure!

Skiing, skions...

On the road to le Grand-Bornand. French vacations are ending tonight. Most people have gone back home. After the sudden mist on the road and the heavy snow fallen all last week, a clear blue sky and shining sun is just the promise of a great day.

Great ski, great snow and great sun. Still risks of avalanche, so staying on the opened slops is the good choice of the day!

Christmas diner at la Vallombreuse.

First time in 13 teen years!
We had our Christmas diner up stairs, near the fire place. A great time, sharing with family and friends the cosy atmosphere of the place. We all so much enjoyed it.
